Stephen Michael James “Steve” Ovett participated in many events
like Olympic games in Moscow 1980, U.S.S.R, and IAAF. He set the world record
for 1500 meters and holds the UK record for 2 miles in 1978. He gave up
football because he didn’t want to rely on teammates. At his peak, he was
associated with a famous athlete, who is Sebastian Coe. After he retired from
running he did become a track & field T.V Commentator for the CBC. A statue
that was erected to him in 1987 honored him, however it was stolen in 2007 till now.
He is living now in Australia and he is 59 years old.
